REVIEWS
I had an amazing experience learning with Julia Winfield. The session was held outdoors by the waterfront in a park, which made it feel peaceful, refreshing, and really enjoyable. Julia is a fantastic instructor patient, friendly, and very clear in her guidance. She taught useful watercolor techniques, explained each step in a simple way, and made it easy to follow even as a beginner. The whole session felt relaxed, encouraging, and creative. It was a perfect mix of art, nature, and relaxation.

I highly recommend the 2-hour beginner drawing class with Kathy through the Charlotte Art Group held at Ebony Experience! She made learning about pencil types and techniques so easy to understand. The class included people of all ages and abilities and Kathy guided us all through completing our first still life picture of an apple. This was so fun and rewarding- I?m looking forward to practicing and taking more classes in the future. The Ebony Experience Gallery in Mint Hill is such a great space, and having the adjacent coffee shop for a delicious latte and pastry made the whole experience perfect!

This was an excellent event for real beginners. I so appreciate the time spent on understanding and practicing with the various types of brushes, using gesso, and understanding and blending colors. Very much worth the time and money! The venue was nice too with the bonus of having the coffee/tea shop ?Ebony Bloom Tea Lounge? right next door and the owner came over, took orders and delivered our coffee/tea so as not to interrupt our class time. Great experience.

Title or Location: Tulips
This artwork symbolizes the deep connection with nature that emerges during spiritual awakening and the opening of consciousness. The tulip landscape represents the moment when we begin to perceive beauty, harmony, and the interconnectedness of life through a more conscious perspective. More than a landscape, it is an invitation to pause, observe, and reconnect with a sense of wonder for what is truly essential.

A small oil portrait of my late wife Jackie, that I completed in Feb 2026. After throwing 4 paintings in the trash and total frustrated with myself, I thought I would try something else rather than my typical approach. This was the result of me just letting it happen.

A hand built ceramic endeavor, built to entice our Carolina Wren to nest and lay her eggs! We love our aviary friends! I love building, sculpting and creating from clay! It is a process with plenty of ?risks? e.g. cracks, breakage, collapsing roofs, exploding in kiln, disappointing glazes? but sometime as they say ?a blind squirrel can find a nut?!

I've made friends with photographers all over the world and almost all of them are gracious enough to allow me to use their photos as reference for an oil painting. This particular photographer is from the Czech Republic. I was attracted by the vivid colors and the sense of movement in the air. I've painted other birds entering and exiting the water but this would be a much different effect to get with paint. I'm very happy with the layers of dust and the contrast with the black background.

I loved this photograph from John Strachan photography and finally got around to painting it in acrylic. I tried to be quite loose with the painting as there was so much detail. in the end I thought the sky looked a bit bare so with the help of Chat GPT I added seagulls to the photo and was then able to paint them into my art work. This painting will be heading for the Aberdeen art show the end of August for sale.

My aim is always to capture not only the likeness of an animal but also the personality and spirit that make them so special to the people who love them.In this piece, Colin is shown resting amongst a vibrant meadow of wildflowers, his striking green eyes drawing the viewer in. The detailed fur work, delicate whiskers, and colourful floral surroundings were all carefull
